- אַכְסַנְדַרְיָה
- אַכְסַנְדַּרְיָא, אַכְסַנְדַרְיָהf. (v. אלכסנדרית) an Alexandrian merchantman (Alexandria navis); trnsf. a high mast (satyrically for cross, gallows). Targ. II, Esth. 7:10 the son of Hamdatha wants to ascend לא׳ דבר פנדירא (Ms. לאַלַכְסַ׳) the mast of the son of Pandira (is to be hanged). Neg. XII, 1 באכסנדריא (marginal vers. in Mishn. edit., text אסקריא, Var. אסדא, אכסדיא, אסכדיא q. v.) in the rigging.
